Screenwriters' Group Meetup (Every two weeks)

A regular meeting to read and discuss work writers are currently engaged in. For screenwriters' serious about their writing and who want the support and incentive a periodic group meeting can provide.

We'll make introductions about ourselves, our experiences and what we want out of the group.

If you're comfortable in doing so, come prepared with a something you're working on that you want to read or discuss.

Coming soon!

It's time once again to pitch your Film/TV projects and ideas!

Everyone who pitches will be entered into a drawing for a copy of Final Draft 12!

Here's your opportunity to pitch your project and get some valuable feedback from your peers! This is a safe space to test out and improve your ideas and pitching skills.

We will schedule pitches on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to pitch, put your name in a comment below.
Please prepare your pitches to go no longer than 5 minutes. This will be followed up by Q&A from the other members in the group.

Here are some best practices for pitching:
  1. Be confident and excited about your project. If you can't get excited, no one else will.
  2. Be concise but include the genre, main character's dilemma and arc, the story's hook.
  3. Stick to what's important--major story beats. Secondary characters, B stories and dialogue, for example, are not necessary.
  4. Tell why this story resonates with you. Why is it important for you to tell this story. Also, why is it relevant today? These are questions you'll be asked in a real pitch, so it's good to be prepared for this.

We will be located in the back room (now with a pool table!).
To keep a better idea of how many people will be there, please update your RSVP if you register and then cannot make it.
How to find us: We'll be in the room in the back of the bar. Look for our sign.
